At nearly 31 weeks pregnant, I’m pretty much all for having lazy weekends as often as possible. So my sweet hubby kicked off the weekend by sending me off to get my nails done.
Then we celebrated my sis-in-law’s birthday
We went for an Italian-ish theme. We started off with a Bacon-Jalapeño Cheese Ball, then served Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Garlic Bread and Caesar Salad. And for dessert we had Red Velvet Brownies. It was our first time making the cheese ball and while I thought it was okay when we tried it right after making it, it was really good the following day when we actually served it! Great appetizer! The fettuccine alfredo recipe is our fave!!! It’s sooo good and really easy to make. However, be prepared to gain some pounds when you see what all goes in to it. Eek! It was also my first time making the brownies and I’m a little torn on them. They tasted pretty good, but were not as fudgy and chewy as the picture depicted. So, I think I’m going to try them again but cook them for less time. Fingers crossed a redo is worth it! I will say they tasted pretty good the next day, warmed up a little with some whipped cream on top!
After dinner, J, AP and I went for a walk around the neighborhood. I’m definitely walking much slower now. Can’t believe I’m nearly 9 weeks away from having another child! I’m starting to really realize that I’m very unprepared. I haven’t had time to process or think about what it’s going to be like, and all of a sudden, when I say 9 weeks, I feel like I’m saying 3 weeks because of how much I know I need to do. So, I’m sure I’ll be going into panic mode soon, deep cleaning the house, preparing frozen meals and making lists of all the things I need to do or buy. Wish me luck!
Sunday, we attended LifeChurch.tv where Pastor Craig started a new series about how there is always a way out from temptations we may face. It was a good reminder that God will never give us more than we can bear. Today was also J’s “Fun Day” at work where the company sponsors a day of fun. Typically, you do your event during a work day, but J and his buds do a board game day where they’ll start around 11 in the morning and end around 3 or 4 in the morning, yep, you read that right. And they’ll take the following day off to catch up on sleep. So, while J was off doing that, AP and I hung out around the house and pretty much vegged out.
My parents spent the whole afternoon with AP and I, so that helped to pass the time much more quickly. And then my brother and his family joined us all and brought everyone dinner. I love, and am so grateful, that I have family who is willing to drop by and help me pass the time when J is away.
Overall it was a great weekend!
